I’ve just returned from my first trip to Birchwood camping and had the most relaxing stay. The campsite is designed so well and has so many extras that really make the stay. The fridge freezer, kettle and toaster is a great addition. The bathrooms are so clean and the showers larger than mine at home! I came with a friend but was wanting to find more places where I would feel safe camping alone and this is certainly that. There is plenty of wildlife and it really lets you disconnect from the busy world. Alison and Melvyn really do maintain the site so well and this will be the first of many trips.

A beautifully maintained campsite in nature. The facilities were excellent, everything you could need and very clean. Lovely play area for the kids, large pitches each with a table and benches, really peaceful except for the sounds of wildlife. We’d definitely return.

What a beautiful, peaceful campsite. Very quiet, with only the sounds of the birds around you. Super spacious pitches, lots of privacy, and really nice, clean sanitary facilities. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

We were able to admire birds, birds of prey, and even a big hare in full splendor here. Cycling to Tenbury was a fun challenge.

I’ve just returned from 4 nights at Birchwood camping and cannot speak highly enough of my time there.

Alison and Melvyn were great hosts, they are close by which is reassuring for any solo campers, yet not intrusive .

The pitches are well appointed, the showers and facilities spotless and there is communal use of a fridge and freezer to chill your ice blocks at no extra cost.

Wood, home made jam and local honey are available for a small fee and I can thoroughly recommend the blackcurrant jam!

The site is surrounded by fields and hedges and you can lose yourself with the bird song and the sounds of the sheep and lambs while watching the farmers in the opposing fields.

I’m going back in 2 weeks and Birchwood camping site is now my go to, when I need to unwind and reset from every day life.

Birchwood Camping is perfect if you’re looking for a peaceful time in nature away from the busyness of modern life. Mervyn and Alison have given thoughtful care to creating and maintaining this beautiful site and are most welcoming and attentive hosts.

There are a small number of spacious pitches each surrounded by wildflower meadows, or in the case of the Quarry where I stayed, trees. My pitch was the furthest from the main facilities and I luxuriated in the sense of being private and away from it all. Alison kindly came to see if I had everything I needed each day.

This was my first camping trip for several years and things like inflating the air mattress and getting it to stay up and persuading the pop up tent to pop down again and go back in its bag were challenges that I did eventually resolve but Alison assured me that if I’d needed help it would be fine for me to phone them any time.

The Quarry has its own compost loo and shower so I didn’t have to go far for that. These and the main facilities are perfectly maintained, spotless and simple. I appreciated the minimal number of notices and instructions around which added to the atmosphere of friendly trust.

I saw a Muntjac deer slip into the undergrowth, watched butterflies and insects and heard all sorts of birdsong. I had planned to visit one of the nearby towns during my two day stay but in the end didn’t want to go anywhere but just to carry on soaking up the peace.

Birchwood really is a very special place.

A peaceful and tranquil campsite. Only the sounds of the birds singing, bleeting of the sheep in the next field and the hoot of an owl.

It’s beautifully laid out with each plot having their own area surrounded by wild flowers and grasses. Campervans are at the top of the field with stunning views of the campsite one way and hills the other.

There are 2 toilet cubicles with sink and shower in each, which are kept really clean.

The washing up area has 2 sinks, a large fridge freezer, a kettle and a toaster, along with other utensils you might need. There was also washing up liquid, cloths and sponges available. There’s games available and a box full of information if you fancy a day trip out.

The hosts were so friendly and welcoming and didn’t mind at all when I disturbed them at 10pm as I’d locked myself out of the van – hopefully that won’t happen again.

I had a wonderful time and will definitely be back.

What a lovely campsite, with well spaced pitches in a lovely meadow, complete with barn owl. Melvyn and Alison were friendly hosts – they even sell home made jam. Facilities are excellent too.

This lovely campsite is full of wonderful contradictions:

– It is simple and rustic but also camping luxury (The shared kitchen area has a fridge freezer, a kettle AND a toaster. The very nice bathrooms have scented candles and large, hot showers. Fire pits on every pitch)

– It is small but spacious (with a handful of large pitches well spread out amongst the meadow flowers)

– It is grown up and serene but also caters well for children (lovely little playground, stream to paddle in and sports equipment to borrow)

– It is peaceful and secluded but full of nature noise (birdsong, baaing and bees)

And the whole site is so well maintained, clean and tidy.

Definitely worth a visit!

A beautiful, peaceful campsite where hearing the birds singing is pure joy, especially the barn owls calling at night time. Melvyn and Alison are friendly and helpful hosts and the facilities (toilets, showers, kitchen) are very clean and maintained to a high standard. The pitches are very generous giving space and privacy. The perfect camping spot. Definitely recommend and will stay again in the future.
